Profesor en el Departamento de Informática de la Universidad de Jaén, con experiencia previa como investigador Marie Curie en la Universidad de Edimburgo y como profesor en la Universidad de Cádiz. También ha trabajado en la industria como investigador e ingeniero de software. Es miembro del grupo de investigación Sinbad2 y de la red RIBCi. Posee un doctorado en Inteligencia Artificial por la Universidad de Edimburgo, otro doctorado en TIC, un máster en Educación y títulos de Ingeniería Técnica en Informática de Gestión y de Ingeniería Informática, todos por la Universidad de Jaén. Sus principales áreas de interés incluyen la Inteligencia Artificial, las Tecnologías de Registro Distribuido, el Internet de las Cosas, la Toma de Decisiones en Grupo, y la Educación.
