Profesora Titular del Departamento de Informática (área de conocimiento Lenguajes y Sistema Informáticos) de la Universidad de Jaén (España) desde 2003. Doctora por la Universidad de Granada desde 2001. Sus intereses de investigación actuales son la innovación educativa, la promoción de las mejores prácticas en campus virtuales, el desarrollo de HS evolutivo y adaptativo y la aplicación de software evolutivo a herramientas de e-learning. Desde 2003 se dedica a la innovación docente y a la divulgación. Ha sido comisaria de dos exposiciones en la Universidad de Jaén y en la Universidad de Almería (Historia de la Microinformática: El Pasado de la Computación Personal, https://youtu.be/ueOyHJ51GkY) y de exposiciones y eventos sobre el proyecto cultural "Pioneras Informáticas" (https://pionerasinformaticas.ujaen.es/) de la que es coordinadora.
