Situated within the School of Computing and Mathematics on the Jordanstown Campus the SERG facilities is comprised of a number of dedicated research working spaces along with newly refurbished smart environments.
Research within the Faculty of Computing and Engineering is managed by the Computer Science Research Institute (CSRI). Computer Science at Ulster is now in the top 20% in the UK for research power, ranked 15th out of 81 UK universities in the national Research Assessment Exercise (as reported independently by Research Fortnight). The submission of 41 staff was the 8th largest in Computer Science in the UK, with 55% of research judged to be world-leading or internationally excellent, and 90% internationally recognized.
