University of Jaen has launched a laboratory ambient intelligence at its Center for Advanced Studies in information and communications technology (CEATIC) to improve the quality of life and safety of the elderly, or with cognitive impairments, within their usual environment. In it are developing different applications to monitor from the state of health of the person to safety inside the housing, thus leading to smart homes that capture every alteration. Spaces like this are geared to home automation but is the first of Spain, in an academic environment, focusing on geriatric care.
