Laboratorio de Toma de Decisiones

El laboratorio de toma de decisiones se centra en el estudio de los procesos, métodos y herramientas que permiten seleccionar la mejor alternativa posible ante diferentes opciones, considerando múltiples criterios, objetivos y restricciones. Su propósito principal es comprender y mejorar la forma en que los individuos, grupos y organizaciones enfrentan situaciones complejas donde deben evaluar riesgos, beneficios, costos e incertidumbres. Esta área es de naturaleza interdisciplinaria, ya que combina fundamentos de la matemática, la estadística, la economía, la psicología, la inteligencia artificial y la gestión, entre otras disciplinas.

Dentro de este laboratorio, se analizan diferentes enfoques para apoyar la toma de decisiones, como los modelos deterministas, probabilísticos y los basados en la incertidumbre y la imprecisión, utilizando herramientas como la lógica difusa, los sistemas expertos, la simulación o los algoritmos de optimización. También se estudian los procesos cognitivos y sociales involucrados en la toma de decisiones humanas, con el fin de diseñar modelos que reflejen tanto la racionalidad limitada como los sesgos y preferencias subjetivas que influyen en los resultados.

Las aplicaciones que se realizan en este laboratorio son amplias y abarcan áreas como la planificación estratégica, la gestión de recursos, el análisis de riesgos, la ingeniería de sistemas, la salud, el medio ambiente y la política pública, entre otras. Asimismo, en el contexto actual de transformación digital, se busca integrar la toma de decisiones con tecnologías emergentes como la inteligencia artificial, el aprendizaje automático y el análisis de datos masivos, lo que permite crear sistemas de apoyo a la decisión más eficientes, adaptativos y transparentes.
